Our story

Mardesa

Above all, a story of tradition and passion.

Its founder, Denis Delattre, comes from a line of well-known fishermen from the port of Les Sables d’Olonne, and grew up to the rhythm of the tides and fishing. From the age of 12, he was passionate about making fishing traps, perfecting his technique over the years.

In 2014, after a professional retraining, he decided to make this passion his profession and founded Mardesa.

Its goal is to offer both private and professional customers high-quality, hand-crafted traps, designed with tested trapping systems that effectively target the desired species.

The indispensable partner

Serving biodiversity and fragile ecosystems

Thanks to this expertise, Mardesa has become a key partner of regional and national nature parks, actively contributing to the regulation of invasive species, notably the crayfish.

A family history

Made with heart and know-how

Today, Sacha Delattre, his son, is carrying on thefamily legacy. Driven by the same values of tradition, ethics and expertise, he continues to develop the company, always with the same high standards of quality andinnovation.

Creations by Ariette

Baskets made in Vendée

In addition to his work with Mardesa’s creels, Sacha has decided to reuse oyster mesh to create new products. Drawing on his father’s expertise, he founded his own company: Les Créations by Ariette. This brand offers a varied selection of baskets made from recycled materials. Each piece is carefully handcrafted in our Vendée workshop, highlighting local know-how and respect for the environment. Les Créations by Ariette offers a diverse range of unique products.

Recycled Materials

The Sea, a Source of Innovation

Creations by Ariette and Mardesa give a second life to recycled oyster bags. By using recycled or eco-friendly materials, they contribute to the preservation of marine and terrestrial ecosystems. Their products, while environmentally friendly, make no compromise on quality and durability.
